A motorcycle rider is in critical condition after hitting a retaining wall in south Reno Thursday evening.

The crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Plumb Lane near Humboldt Street.

Police say the unidentified rider took a curve too fast and went off the roadway where the motorcyclist hit a retaining wall and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Police say the rider was transported to a nearby hospital where they are listed in critical condition.

Police say speed and impairment appear to be involved in the crash.
