On a side note -

Pitts Orthodontics and Brosy Family Dentistry have teamed up for the 3rd annual Halloween Candy Buy Back program and the dental duo will pay you for your candy. Ghosts, goblins, witches and princesses will be paid one dollar for each pound of unopened Halloween candy to send to the troops through Operation Gratitude’s Halloween Candy Buy Back program.  Last year, the team collected 1,400 pounds of candy and ITS Logistics shipped it on their behalf.

From Nov. 2 through 5, Pitts Orthodontics will be collecting unopened Halloween candy at the office located at 4786 Caughlin Parkway, #305 in Reno.

“Each year we’ve been able to beat our previous record and this year is no different with a goal of collecting more than 1,500 pounds,” said Dr. Mark Handelin of Pitts Orthodontics. “We need all of our trick-or-treaters to kick-in and show our support for our troops.”

Operation Gratitude annually sends 150,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, plus personal letters of appreciation, to U.S. military deployed overseas.

For those preferring to substitute a personal letter of appreciation, cards, and hand-drawn pictures, the troops enjoy receiving notes.

“The Candy Buy Back program is an important way for us to show our support of our military service men and women deployed overseas and it’s a fun way to partner with our patients, Brosy Family Dentistry and ITS Logistics to do something that brings joy to our soldiers,” said Dr. Arnie Pitts of Pitts Orthodontics.

Last year, the team of Pitts, Brosy and ITS Logistics of Reno delivered 1,400 pounds of candy, letters of gratitude and dental hygiene items.
