Walk into the Carson City Tractor Supply Co. this week, and you will spot a small tree covered in tags, each one tied to a child who loves the Western lifestyle.
It is part of a returning holiday tradition from Dare To Be A Cowboy, and the group is inviting people to help fill those wishes one gift at a time.
Dare To Be A Cowboy has brought its “Giddy Up and Give” Angel Tree back to the store for a second year, offering people a simple way to support children ages three to 12.
The tree stands inside the store located at 2035 E. William St. in Carson City, where people can pick a tag, choose a Western-themed gift, and return it unwrapped by December 11.
The store has stocked plenty of fitting toys so shoppers can handle everything in one visit.
Those who prefer not to shop in person can donate online through the group’s website, with funds used to cover any tags still needing gifts.
“This holiday season, we’re so grateful to partner with Tractor Supply for the second year in a row to bring Western-themed holiday joy to local families,” said Hannah Beth, DTBAC’s founder and Executive Director. “We love that we can do it with a little cowboy spirit, and whether it’s purchasing a gift or making a donation, every contribution helps make a child’s holiday brighter.”
Families interested in receiving gifts for their children can also apply online through the group’s DTBAC Giddy Up & Give Application. “We know that hard times happen, and if your child is between 3-12 years old with a love for the Western or agricultural lifestyle, we’d love to help make their holiday special,” the group says.
They are accepting the first 50 applicants, so families are encouraged to apply soon. All gifts must be picked up at the Carson City Tractor Supply Co. location on Monday, December 15, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Families can leave their email in the application and will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. The application can be completed here: Giddy Up & Give Application.
The group will collect and organize the gifts ahead of the December 15 pickup window.
Dare To Be A Cowboy is a 501(c)(3) that offers resources, mentorship, and programs, including scholarships, riding lessons, rodeo event production, and the Angel Tree effort to support young people interested in Western and agricultural activities.
