A joint operation between the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Carson City Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of former Reno car dealership manager Richard West, Jr. on several new drug-related charges.
This comes after deputies found West unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in front of the Valero gas station in Mound House.
Deputies determined he was under the influence of fentanyl.
During the investigation, they found fentanyl and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
After investigating further, deputies were led to a hotel room at the Gold Dust in Carson City, where they located more meth and fentanyl alongside a woman named Courtney O’Brien.
Courtney was also arrested in connection to the case.
Richard West, Jr. faces several drug charges including:
Possession of a controlled substance, schedule I-II
Possession of controlled substance with intent to sell
Possession of dangerous weapon
Possession of burglary tools
Possession of dangerous drug without prescription
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Courtney O’Brien was arrested on the following charges:

Possession of a controlled substance, schedule I-II meth
Possession of dangerous drug without prescription
Possession of drug paraphernalia
In 2017, West was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in a prescription drug ring.
